Crime Watch Meeting that was Today!

Thanks to all those who came to NeSmith elementary today for the Crime Watch Meeting. It was nice to see those of you who came. It lasted for around two hours and there was a lot to here that will help us feel safer!

I wondered a couple of times if we needed help who do we call. Well here in a number that you all need to put where you can see it quickly if needed. This number is for the dispatch if you ever need to call (of course you can also call 911) 972-547-5350.

With this meeting, I was reminded of having a home security system myself, we just have never used it. Does anyone have the number to who to call to have it set up? I think we were given the number when we moved in, but I don't remember where it is. Crazy I know!

We need more block captains also. Right now there are only three, myself being one of them. When papers need to be handed out or news spread, it helps to have more than just three to do it. The last time papers were handed out only one of the three captains were able to hand them out, that being me. I don't mind doing it, but help would be nice sometimes. Not to mention, the more captains, the more eyes on our neighborhood!

Thanks to everyone today for all that was talked about!

Sad Reminder!

Tomorrow is Helen Clines funeral if any of you want to go look below to see when and where it is.

Freebies

I have been slow on getting these to you lately, sorry! I have been so busy that when I look they are all gone. I will try to find some more time to put them on here before they are all gone!

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful week.

Sorry that another paper was left on your door this afternoon. I left them the other day after being asked to. Why they brought them out again today, I do not know.

As some of you know, Helen Cline died a couple of days ago. If you want to go to her service, it is Sunday at 1:00 at the restland in Rockwall off of the new 205 bypass. We again our very sorry to hear about this and hope her husband is doing fine!

Money Savings Tip

Start a garden. Gardening is an inexpensive hobby if you have a yard. Just rent a tiller, till up a patch, plant some plants, keep it weeded, and you’ll have a very inexpensive hobby that produces a huge amount of vegetables for you to eat at the end of the season. I like planting a bunch of tomato plants, keeping them cared for, then enjoying a huge flood of tomatoes at the end of the summer. We like to eat them fresh, can them, and make tomato juice, sauce, paste, ketchup, pasta sauce, and pizza sauce. Delicious (and very inexpensive)!

Freebies For the Day

Get a free sample of Dove Go Fresh Cool Essentials deodorant from Costco. You do not need to be a Costco member in order to request this sample by mail.

Save $0.50 on Reynolds Wrap Foil from 100% Recycled AluminumYes, the same foil that many of you printed a rebate form for. You can no longer print the rebate form - but you can print this new coupon!

Our condolences to Bob and Helen Cline. Helen passed away early this afternoon after being in the hospital for awhile. They live here in Bently Farms. She was the lady who helped with giving toys to our Toy Drive in December and won the gift card. She was a great friend to those who knew her. If you didn't know her, you missed out! I wish her husband and family all the best possible in this sad time. After loosing my dad this last December, I know it is not easy.

If you would like to donate a little money to put into a Visa card to go to Mr. Cline, please contact us at Bently Farms.

God Bless!

16 Days until Mother's Day!

Yes I am still alive, just having a very bad couple of days! I hope things get better here very soon or else I am going to have to take a trip home to Michigan to relax!

I hope you all are ready for some rain. It looks like we are in for about two or more inches of rain on Friday.

We are going to have a Neighborhood Yard Sale in the month of May. Any weekend that will not work for you please email Bently Farms or risk the rest of us having the yard sale during that timeframe.

Did you know that on FaceBook there is a group you can join that is here in Lavon. Just search "Lavon".

Make sure to check out our local businesses on the right side of the blog. They have some wonderful ideas.

We need more Easter Eggs!

Several of us have already donated some, thanks to them; however, it is going to take more than a handful of people donating to pull this off! Please drop these off before tomorrow night at 144 Shoreview Drive. If no one is home, please leave on chair out front by window.

What a long day this has been! I worked myself to death cleaning and getting ready for our night of Pokeeno here at my home. I think all had fun. My ham turned out great, and my gift I bought was liked great! So the day of work was worth it.

Our Easter Egg Hunt is going to be fun. However, we need lots of eggs for this. If you haven't stuffed any yet, can you please do so! Our kids will have a lot of fun and remember this for a long time. Call or email with questions. Remember your cameras!

Has anyone lost the keys here in the neighborhood. Some keys were found up front and turned in. Please email me if you think these belong to you.

Anyone putting signs up front need to make sure they do not put them in the where the plants are planted. Someone put a sign in at one time a broke the water line. Mr. Teske has worked very hard to plant and keep this looking nice. He doesn't want to have to keep fixing these because of signs being drove through the hoses. Thanks.

I also spoke to him about keeping our neighborhood looking nice. If you should need help keeping your lawn mowed this summer there is help for you. Please contact us.

We want to say we are very sorry to the family who were caught in that mess the other day. We hope they are doing fine and wish them all the best.

We need straw or hay bales for this Saturday. Does anyone have a way of getting some?

Money Savings Tips, Recipes, Freebies, etc... will be added again shortly. I am just about caught up on all of our work we had going over the last two weeks.

Warning!

Warning! Update!

The suspects were never seen running through our neighborhood on foot with a gun. They left in a vehicle. I am a police officer in the neighborhood and can verify some facts if needed. Per Lavon PD, a press release has been released and the Crime Watch Captains will be notified.

I know you all are probably tired off finding stuff on your mailboxes and on your door; however, these pertain to Easter! So please read both sides!
Sorry I haven't put anything on here in a couple of days. We have been putting together ten teams unifoms for baseball and all had to be done by this last Saturday. That meant lots of embroidery and screenprinting!!
