6 Days until Valentine's Day (which counts the day of Valentine's Day)
Well I have lots of people complaing that this weekend got away from them way too fast! It was a rather gloomy weekend around here without the sun out that much. Well l think we really need some rain tomorrow, so it will not be that bad to be gloomy again!
Well have any of you saw "Nights in Rodanthe" yet? It will be out on Tuesday. I didn't get to see it yet and wondered if it was a good show!
I really wish some of you would comment on anything! There are lots of us here in the neighborhood, and I find it hard to think that no one as anything to say!
Health Tip
Balance your food choices over time. Not every food has to be "perfect." When eating a food high in fat, salt or sugar, select other foods that are low in these ingredients. If you miss out on any food group one day, make up for it the next. Your food choices over several days should fit together into a healthy pattern.
Money Savings Tip
Swap babysitting with neighbors. We live in a neighborhood with an army of young children out and about. Because of that, there are a lot of parents out there who are quite willing to swap babysitting nights with us, saving you the money of hiring one for an evening out. A few families even take this to incredible extremes. Try to find another set of parents or two that you trust, and swap nights of babysitting with them. That way, you’ll get occasional evenings free without the cost of a babysitter, saving you some scratch.
An "Unknown Tip" that a lot of people don't know about cooking!
If you have cookies or maybe brown sugar that gets hard, put a piece of bread in the bag with them, seal it and leave it for a day. The cookies and brown sugar will absorb the moisture from the bread thus making them soft again! I was absolutely surprised when so many people said they had never heard of that.
Cookbooks
We haven't forgot about putting out fliers to get your recipes for a neighborhood cookbook! A couple of us with this idea have been down with the flu. So make sure to think about your one or two best recipes that you would like to share!
Well that's all unless someone wants to add a comment! Happy Monday!
