City Counsel Meeting

There is a special session city council mtg Monday night to discuss employee matters. My guess is that this is when the council will discuss either filling or eliminating the position of a police officer who is leaving. Please be there to voice your opinion on the matter. I, along with several others, including the mayor's wife, feel that patrols should not be cut. Hopefully the council will not eliminate this position to save a buck. We already don't have 24/7 coverage.

Cute Quote for the Day

‎"God gives us dreams that are a size too big, so we can grow into them." - unknown

Neighbors call me crazy, but I really miss seeing this stuff in Michigan.  This is such a beautiful picture.  I can only dream to see such a site some day.

Spring Clean Up

Does anyone know when our spring clean up is for trash?  I am trying to clean out behind our bard and have quite a few things that need to go out, but wouldn't go right now since it's not spring clean up. With these new houses going in I don't think they want to see the mess behind there!  Plus it needs to be done.

Any new news anyone what like to share with our neighbors?

New News!

So very true, after thinking that the end of the world was coming.  The Mayans instead say this the time of a new beginning.  So a fresh start and infinite possibilities is very, very true.

Our neighborhood is growing very quickly so if any of you live near them can you refer them to our BlogSpot. I will try to update it more than I have.  Life has just been very busy raising our adopted daughter from China who turned four in October.  Now that she is a little more independent, I have a little more time to blog.

From what I gather, there is a peeping Tom in our neighborhood.  So make sure your vehicles our locked as well as all your doors and windows.  Also make sure that you close your blinds.  During the snow we had there were footprints leading to a back window of a neighbor's home.  This person has also been messing with backdoors.

The neighborhood yard sale duty I am handing to whoever wants to do the next one.   I have to start taking some of this off my plate and it is now others turns to do so in the neighborhood.  Just a heads up for spring/summer.  I have the neighborhood signs in my garage if you want to use them.

We also have lots of little ones in the neighborhood, does anyone aside from myself or Mindi Serkland that would like to host it at their house, we still have lots of plastic eggs.

If anyone has the blue plans for the roadwork out front, it would be nice to post on here.  It is getting to be quite the mess.

Things to do in October, thanks to Monica!

Here's the one for the big orange pumpkin farm. It really is neat.

Here's the link for the tiny tots Tuesdays at the arboretum. It looks like the fall pumpkin patch started already and goes through November 22.

Here's information for The Heard Museum in McKinney. It's a natural museum and wildlife sanctuary. If you look at the events calendar you will see the information about the Dinosaurs Live event. They also have a neat Halloween event.

NNO

Hello neighbors, it is that time again for National Night Out! I will host NNO at my house, 950 Cornsilk, Tuesday Oct. 4th from 6-8pm. This is a great way to meet new neighbors and catch up with ones you not have seen in awhile. Again this year, we will be collecting can goods for the local food drive. There will be BBQ hotdogs and hamburgers and other goodies. We thought it would be fun for the kiddos to wear their Halloween costumes and bring a pumpkin to decorate. Thanks to Ursula and Chuck we are setting great on the paper goods and the meat. We still need alot of help with other food and supplies. If you could help in anyway, please call me 972-843-2795.

NNO

Is anyone coordinating the NNO for Bently Farms this year? I will be more than happy to help out. We can have it in the cul de sac at the end of Rolling Meadow. My stepdad is manager at Wallys in Rockwall who will donate plates, cups, napkins, and balloons. Just let me know if we will be participating in NNO this year. Thanks!

Cute Quote Told To Me Today!

Life is to short not to have a little umbrella in every tall glass!

Did You Know?

Two Things I Just Learned!

If you have raisins in the cupboard and they are hard, all you have to do soften them is put them in boiling water! It doesn't hurt them at all!

Always wondered how to put a burrito together without thinks falling out of the end. You need to fold the side first and then fold it the other way!
