Tomorrow is Valentine's Day!

Thank goodness the neighborhood made it through the storm Tuesday night in great shape! It had a bunch of us worried. With the lights out it made for an interesting evening to say the least!

If you have a son/daughter playing baseball/softball I want to let you know that Tom is the Vice President. If you have any problems, it doesn't matter what time it is or what day it is, please call him (214) 687-7802. He wants this year to be alot better than the last few have gone. With the new baseball fields that will be started building as soon as possible, he hopes to bring all the kids that have left the CYA to come back here to play. Without problems being fixed and good words about playing ball being said, things can't change. Please help support this year by being good parents on the side lines, but yet letting the board know if you are upset about something.

I will be moving our sign up front behind the Bently Farm sign so that you'll see it when leaving instead of when entering the neighborhood. I'm sure some of you may be tired of seeing it, but for others, it will soon be there to remind them!

To the Pokeeno ladies, it was a fun night last night! If you want to sign up as a substitute player, please contact us. We would love to meet you!

Congrats to Melissa Crabtrey who is going to be having her first baby later this year. And also to Kim Morgan, who is going to have her second baby this summer! We wish you the best!

As some of you know Tom and I are adopting a baby girl from China. We have been waiting for over two years now and probably will be waiting another two years to get a referral. We have decided to in the meantime try and adopt a baby from around here. With that said, we are asking that all of you keep your ear our for any mom that you may here of that is looking to put her baby up for adoption. If you belong to a church, can you mention it to your pastor? We thank you so very much!

We have some good news on the tornado alarms that we are working to have put up in the city, it looks like we might get some grants for up to 75% of the costs of putting this in! Jeaneen has worked very hard over the last two weeks looking into this. Her and I will be the ones getting recipes collected and put into a book to help raise the other 25%. Stay tuned!

Cute:

Wouldn't our kiddos love this! Thanks Mindy for sending this to me!

Health Tip

For the nasty cold: Blow Your Nose Often -- and the Right Way
It's important to blow your nose regularly when you have a cold rather than sniffling mucus back into your head. But when you blow hard, pressure can cause an earache. The best way to blow your nose: Press a finger over one nostril while you blow gently to clear the other. Wash your hands after blowing your nose.

Money Saving Tip

Don’t fear leftovers - instead, jazz them up. Many people dread eating leftovers - they’re just inferior rehashes of regular meals, not exactly enjoyable to the discerning palate. However, there’s nothing cheaper than eating leftovers and with a few great techniques for making leftovers tasty, you can often end up with something surprising and quite delicious on the other end.
